Weena Yohannes

Hey everyone!

My name is Weena Yohannes, and I’m a third year Biological Sciences major and Feminist Studies minor from Los Angeles.

I joined BSU to be a part of an organization that supports Black students since being at a PWI can be so difficult to navigate. I want Black students to feel like they have a community that they can rely on to support them holistically in order to guarantee their success and happiness at UCSB.

I am looking forward to help work as a team to cultivate this supportive space and curate general body meetings that reflect the wants and needs of our Black students. I want Black students to have a healthy balance of academic support and social interaction through BSU events!
