Kylah Jordan

Membership Development Coordinator

Hey y’all!

My name is Kylah Jordan I am 4th year Sociology major Black Studies minor. I am from Fresno, CA but also have family roots in Los Angeles, CA.

I joined BSU because I felt like there was a cry for help in our community that wasn’t being heard. I wanted to do my best to heal my peers in a way that brought our people together. I couldn’t take the fact that we were all separate due to Covid, drama, or BSU not being a genuine space. Even though I didn’t know that many people in the community I still wanted my energy to bring hope back into Black students on campus that BSU is a safe healing space and that we’re family.

My vision for BSU especially as a graduating student is for it to be a safe, healthy, and exciting space for all Black students. A place for students to vent, get advice, and meet new people. BSU should be a drama free zone that all Black students are aware of, and know they are always welcomed to.

This years board has maintained the goal on making sure BSU is a safe space for all Black students. This foundational groundwork I hope is passed on and continued over the years.
